59-Year-Old Man Accused Of Stealing Campaign Signs In Hudson Valley

A man faces charges after allegedly stealing political campaign signs from a residence in the region, authorities announced. 

The theft happened on Route 9D near Mandalay Drive in Philipstown, authorities said.

Putnam County resident Lucas Gonze, age 59, of of Cold Spring, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 17 following an incident in Philipstown, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday, Oct. 21. 

According to authorities, on Thursday at around 3:20 p.m., a resident in the area of Route 9D near Mandalay Drive saw someone take campaign signs. The witness was able to give deputies a detailed description of both the suspect and his vehicle.

Deputies then tracked the vehicle to Cold Spring and interviewed Gonze before arresting him and charging him with one count of petit larceny. He was then processed and released pending a future court date in the Town of Philipstown Court.
